Governance in Latin means to Steer and Guide. ➡️ Where will this take us?➡️ What impact will this decision have on our strategy?➡️ Why are we doing this?➡️ What gives us the right to succeed/play? (licence to operate)➡️ How are we achieving our purpose?➡️ What is the meaning/story behind the numbers?➡️ How does our strategy link to financial reality?➡️ What is our cashflow?➡️ What is our burn rate?➡️ How are decisions in the last 12 months reflected in the financials?➡️ What are we not seeing/what have we overlooked? ➡️ How will we shape and communicate risk? ➡️ What are our key value drivers?Absolutely loving the lived in Governance week with IoD. 3 days in and we have covered Gov principles/pillars, strategy, financials, board simulation. Very hands on with a nice balance of theory and practical, context and content. And above all connection and relationships (Pillar 2 - Culture!)
